On 20th June, 2023, Maj. Gen.(Rtd) Samuel Nandwa, CBS the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of South Sudan, held bilateral talks with H.E. Madam Rebecca Nyandeng, the Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan in-charge of Gender and Youth Cluster in her office.

The two acknowledged the existing bilateral relations between Kenya and South Sudan and expressed the need to strengthen it even further. The Vice President agreed with the Ambassador’s call for the need to fast track implementation of the LAPSSET project, which will be a game changer in opening a shorter and cheaper trade route between Kenya and South Sudan. The two also discussed on both countries providing conducive working environment for citizens of the two states and to address emerging issues affecting them.
