Kenya Successfully evacuates 19 students from War Torn Khartoum

On 24th April, 2023 19 Kenyan students were successfully airlifted to Kenya after fleeing the war torn city of Khartoum. The students were evacuated through the border town of Renk, in Upper Nile State, South Sudan through efforts made by the Kenya Embassy in Juba, South Sudan as organized in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

Upon reaching Paloich, the 19 students were airlifted by KDF straight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where they were received by a team comprising of the Minister of Defence, Senior officials from KDF, State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Ministry of Interior and Administration among other Officials.
