Kenya Honors her Promise To Support South Sudan

H.E Amb. Samuel Nandwa launches offloading of the Kenya’s support at Juba International Airport.

On 3rd December, 2022 H.E President of the Republic of Kenya, during his visit to South Sudan, assured South Sudanese counterpart of his support. On 23rd, 24th and 25th December 2022, Kenya delivered her support to South Sudan of nine (9) metric tonnes of assorted food stuffs amounting to Kshs. 9.6 million (app. 80,000USD) and assorted 45 metric tonnes of medical supplies amounting to Kshs. 75 million (app. 650,000USD).

The Ambassador of Kenya to South Sudan, H.E Amb. Samuel Nandwa, accompanied by Embassy staff, handed over the support to South Sudan Government on behalf of Kenya Government.

The support was received with gratitude by the Government and people of South Sudan. This opened a new chapter of enhanced relations between Kenya and South Sudan. The support was delivered at a time South Sudan was in dire need of support following the humanitarian crisis caused by flooding in some areas, drought in other areas and violence in the country.
