Kenya Embassy Juba Bids Farewell to The outgoing Defence Attache and welcomes the incoming

On 27th March, 2023 Col. P K Karigih’s tour of duty came to an end and he was replaced by Col. J D Owino. Col Karigih has served the Mission for three years with honor, dignity and unwavering commitment up until the end of his tour of duty therefore, his service to the mission cannot go unnoticed. During his tenure, he endeavored to strengthen Kenya’s bilateral cooperation with South Sudan through close military collaboration in the form of training and facilitation of workshops, close border cooperation and many other security operations in Juba and South Sudan at large.

During his tour of duty Col. Karigih also fostered close relations with key government and security agencies, through which he was able to accentuate Kenya’s contribution to the implementation of the peace process in South Sudan. His appointment as Dean of Defence Attaché’s in Juba was widely welcomed and appreciated as it further highlighted the joint multilateral efforts to bring peace and stability to South Sudan. Across his many engagements he is noted to have projected Kenya’s Defence Diplomacy with sheer professionalism and distinction.

The locally engaged staff also acknowledged and appreciated Col. Karigih’s guidance and leadership accorded to them throughout his tenure.
