

The Ambassador and the Deputy Minister shared on the historical and diplomatic ties existing between the two countries. The Hon Deputy Minister appreciated the Government of Kenya for the support extended to South Sudan in different areas of cooperation for mutual benefits between Kenya and South Sudan. He especially pointed out the area of capacity building and hosting of peace talks.
On the other hand, the Ambassador acknowledged the milestone achieved in the implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement despite the challenges. The Ambassador called for the two countries to hold the Second Session of the Kenya – South Sudan Joint Commission for Cooperation to enhance collaborations and also explore other areas of bilateral cooperation. He pointed out on the invitations made by His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya to His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan to attend the Connected Africa Summit on 24th April, 2024 and the International Development Association (IDA21) Summit scheduled for 28th – 29th April, 2024 in Nairobi.
